Bartolome Illustrations

Illustrations for a Magazine

Our client, Bartolome, is a geologist who wanted illustrations of his scientific report as it was going to be featured in a magazine. He wanted to showcase the formation of stalactites and how they tell earth’s story. As well a comic featuring his mascot explaining the process of how he and his coworkers study these ancient rocks.

Navajo Nation Posters

Poster Design

The Navajo Nation requested posters that highlight both the students from their community and the environment surrounding the university. For the illustration style, I chose to emphasize the students and the objects they were interacting with. To achieve this, I adopted a more dramatic, comic-inspired approach for the students, contrasted with a shape-based background rendered in pastel tones. This stylistic choice was intended to highlight the students, making them appear more prominent and empowered within the composition.

Blessings

Children's Book Illustrations

She’s My Daughter set out to create an empowering book that would inspire young girls to build self-confidence and pursue their aspirations. The author developed a series of chapters, each centered around a specific core value. I was responsible for illustrating each chapter and crafting a short narrative featuring a girl who embodied the theme.

My creative approach focused on using a diverse and expressive color palette to reflect the emotional journey of each character, helping to reinforce the story’s message visually. I also prioritized representing a wide range of girls from different backgrounds. This gave me the opportunity to experiment with varied shape language and distinctive features while preserving a cohesive illustration style throughout the book.

Paramount Students

App's Vector Illustration

Paramount Students sought to enhance their app by updating the existing illustrations to improve user navigation and create a more intuitive experience for students. The client requested a simplified art style with minimal shading and a limited color palette to maintain clarity and focus within the interface.

Rather than seeing these constraints as limiting, I embraced them as a creative challenge. Working within these parameters allowed me to concentrate on visual clarity and effective storytelling through clean, purposeful design choices.

Cat Gift Wrap

App's Vector Illustration

This gift wrap design was created as a product to sell in various art and stationery stores. I aimed to develop something playful and charming—familiar yet with a unique twist. To support this concept, I chose a simple, clean art style that would resonate with a wide audience.

For products like gift wrap, I believe the strength of the idea should lead the design. Over complicating the visuals can detract from the overall impact, so I focused on clarity, charm, and visual appeal to ensure the design remained effective and marketable.

Personal Projects

This selection features various illustrations created for different purposes. Some are part of ongoing personal projects, while others were designed as gifts or produced specifically for exhibition at events. Each piece reflects a unique creative intent and showcases a range of styles and themes.
